Marketing War Among Big 3 TV Makers

The world’s big 3 TV makers are launching new products and beginning global marketing activities aimed at the second quarter, the sales result of which will determine their business performance.

Samsung focuses on the eco-friendly design, LG focuses on enhancing its brand identity and Sony focuses on the price competitiveness by utilizing outsourcing production.

Samsung Electronics launched three new models of its full HD LCD TV sets strategically in last month in Korea. It plans to launch the same products in the US, the Europe and China and begin the different marketing campaigns in the regions.

Still focusing on the design, the company has added new products based on the eco-friendly design, crystal rose. The new designing concept, Crystal Rose, will be renamed as Touch of Color in the US, Crystal Design in the Europe.

Samsung said, “In the end of March and the beginning of April, when retailers replace their display for products, we will exhibit our products and introduce sub-products in the second half. The strategic marketing campaigns should take place during the period.”
